YOU ARE ORDERING A 5 PIECE FULL SERVICE AND O-RING SEAL KIT to conduct A FULL SERVICE AND UPGRADE FOR A (7 SERIES / PHOENIX 50) EP7 / EX7 / EP7GW NOT FOR "77" SERIES PUMPS SOLENOID type WATER PUMP THIS SERVICE KIT CONSISTS OF THE 4 O-RING SEALS (The O-rings are made from nitrile rubber (acrylonitrile butadiene terpolymer).and this is NOT the smae service kit as the 5 series pumps) & a pyrex polished mineral / glass / crystal ball / sphere valve which replaces the rubbish original plastic (delrin) original which simply wears away to pump failure. IF YOUR MACHINE SOUNDS LIKE IT'S PUMPING BUT IT'S NOT, YOU DON'T NEED A REPLACEMENT PUMP (WHICH WILL PROBABLY GO THE SAME WAY AFTER A 1000+ MORE CUPS), YOU JUST NEED TO REPLACE THE BALL SEAL / VALVE. PLEASE NOTE IF YOUR COFFEE MACHINE PUMP SOUNDS LIKE IT IS WORKING BUT HAS A POOR OR INTERMITTENT OR NO FLOW, THE MOST LIKELY PROBLEM IS THE BALL VALVE. THE PUMP IS DESIGNED TO EVENTUALLY FAIL AS IT HAS BEEN MANUFACTURED WITH A PLASTIC BALL (INSIDE) WHICH IMMEDIATELY STARTS TO WEAR DOWN WITH USE UNTIL IT IS TOO SMALL TO CLOSE THE SEAL APART FROM ADDING TO THE WORLDS MICRO-PLASTICS PROBLEM WHICH THE PUMPS WITH THE PLASTIC VALVES DO, THERE IS A REAL RISK THAT THESE PLASTIC PARTICLES HAVE BEEN INGESTED BY YOUR COFFEE DRINKERS AND THE JURY IS OUT ON WHAT ADVERSE EFFECT THEY CAN HAVE ON HEALTH. THIS IS A SCIENCE LABORATORY QUALITY MINERAL (GLASS) SPHERE WHICH WILL NOT WEAR AWAY WITH USE AND WILL PROBABLY OUTLAST THE COFFEE MACHINE. THE COFFEE MACHINE SUPPLIER ULTIMATELY WANTS YOU TO either: RETURN THE MACHINE TO A SERVICE CENTRE (WHO WILL SIMPLY REPLACE THE PUMP WITH ANOTHER WHICH WILL DEVELOP THE SAME PROBLEM) OR GIVE UP ON IT and BUY A NEW MACHINE. YOU DON'T NEED TO DO either, IT'S A REA LLY SIMPLE DIY REPAIR WHICH WILL MAKE YOU A LITTLE BIT RICHER IN ACTUAL TERMS, BODY AND SOUL. THIS FIX ALSO TACKLES THAT BIT OF CORPORATE PLANNED OBSOLESCENCE OUTLINED ABOVE. This is a repair kit which addresses the problem permanently is better than a new pump as there will be no more micro-plastics in your coffees and it will pump more effectively / efficiently. With basic DIY skills, fitting these new valve and o-ring seals is EASY. In most cases, it is advisable to firstly remove the pump from the coffee machine (this is not always necessary, as in some machines, one can access the pump assembly without removing it from the machine) Remove 2 screws holding the pump to the metal solenoid chassis Dismantle the pump as in the supporting photos replace and discard corresponding o-rings Replace the plastic ball with the new glass sphere Using a thin coating of vaseline / petroleum jelly to assist you (sliding o-rings into place) re-assemble pump n.b. (pay attention to the photos to make sure it is re-assembled properly) Replace pump into coffee machine JOB DONE !
